On 9th July 4/3 WL enjoyed a beautiful day out on Dartmoor. This was all to coincide with our topic work. On the trip we walked to Norsworthy bridge where we enjoyed our lunch by the river. We visited a potato cave and a clapper bridge. A thoroughly enjoyable but tiring day was had by all.
Here are 43WL learning about Venn diagrams. We came up with titles for each part of the diagram and then the children decided where they needed to stand!
This week, the whole school has ventured out, at various times, to complete a sponsored walk in order to raise money for Alberto and Sarah, the two children we sponsor . 43WL and 3S had a lovely walk in the sunshine. Let’s hope we raise lots of money!
June 12 2013
As part of Friendship Week, 4/3WL wrote some letters (in French!) to our link school in Brest, France. We introduced ourselves, our families and the things we like to do.
We can’t wait for our replies!
On 7th June, 4/3WL visited the Barbican and the Hoe as part of our Sense of Place study. We looked at many of the historic sites including the Mayflower Steps, The Elizabethan House and gardens and the War Memorials on the Hoe. We had to answer lots of questions during the day, looking around us and reading plaques and signs to find the answers.
Finally, we were all rewarded for our hard work with an ice cream!
We had a fabulous and sunny day out.
Here are some photos from 4/3WL’s assembly. We had a lot of fun dancing and singing and sharing all our learning.

The class sung this song as part of their WW2 topic.
Year 3 Nepal Week March 2012
During Nepal week we learnt some Hindu dance moves. We had a brilliant dance teacher who came in and taught us dance and also a bit about Hindu beliefs!
In RE, we made Hindu Shrines out of shoe boxes. We worked really hard and included Rangoli patterns, pictures of different Hindu Gods and a Puja tray in our shrines. We are all really proud of our work!
