Maths Arrays in Year 2

In this practical session the children were asked to make arrays using cones and other large objects. They worked in small groups to make different arrays that make the same number. An array is a way of showing what a multiplication problem means.  So 3 x 4 is three rows of four objects (or four rows of three).
