Chestnut class had a packed afternoon on Wednesday. They had a whistle-stop tour of the Woodland Arena in Efford Valley and learnt about the school’s vision for Forest School in September.
A brisk walk to the allotment then saw them get their hands dirty! The children first learnt about nematodes which are the natural method of pest control Jason will be using on the beds this year. The beds were treated with bone meal before the children then each had the opportunity to plant a cabbage plant. They were planted very neatly in rows; the allotment really does look fantastic this year! To cap it all off the class got to try the juicy strawberries which are starting to ripen. They were delicious!
