This event takes place to remember David, a pupil of Laira Green Primary School, who died in October 2009 aged 8
David enjoyed art lessons so the competition is a fitting way to keep his memory alive
This year the children were asked to make sculptures to fit the theme ‘underwater’
There are three categories of prizes – overal winner wins a tropy to keep, along with their name added to the school trophy (The Art Award Shield)

2011 Award

Our new Art competition remembers a much loved pupil at Laira Green, David Phillimore.  David loved Star Wars and all things from ‘Outer Space!’  We decided to hold a competition to see who could build the best space model.

The winner was Oriann in Year 4 who designed an enormous silver rocket.  The winning entry can be seen in school just outside reception.

Here are the pictures of the finalists.
