Annual David Phillimore Art Competition

This event takes place to remember David, a pupil of Laira Green Primary School, who died in October 2009 aged 8.  David enjoyed art lessons so the competition is a fitting way to keep his memory alive.
This year the children were asked to make sculptures to fit the theme ‘underwater’.  There are three categories of prizes – the overall winner wins a trophy to keep, along with their name added to the school trophy (The Art Award Shield).
A special assembly was held on Friday 3rd February with Year 6 children who were David’s classmates sharing memories of David.  The event was organised by Teaching Assistant Mrs Tracy Dulling who was assisted by Mrs Amanda Price.
