Year 4/3 New Term letter to parents
January 2012
Welcome back!
Happy New Year! We hope that you all had a good holiday and are ready for the new term. We have had a good first week with the class and are very pleased with the way in which the children have settled back into class and into work! We have a lot to do over the next few terms and the children will be involved in some exciting projects, including an international project on Nepal and a 6 week project celebrating the 100 years since the explorer Scott travelled to Antarctica.

We will continue to set homework every Friday, which will be collected in on the following Thursday. Please ensure that your child completes and returns their homework. It is a really useful way of revisiting learning and sharing with you what we have covered in class.

Please continue to read with your child at home. This is such a valuable activity and will help him/her to make huge progress in their understanding of language. We suggest 10-15 minutes, three times a week. Please use the reading record to let us know that you have heard your child read and to make any relevant comments.

We have attached an overview of the work we will be covering over the next two terms.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs Childs-Garner and Mrs Larsen.
